Cups and Conversation

Susan Lee is one of those people who has been around Pequea Baptist for a long time, yet many may not know who she is because she serves behind the scenes. Get to know Susan through this week's Cups and Conversation. See below for updates on what is happening this week at Pequea.

Connecting Idea- Starting this week, we will suggest an idea or activity you can do to help stay connected with others from the Pequea Church family. Invite another family or two to grab Rita's (or substitute your favorite take-out place here) and head to a local park near you (Gap Park, Wolf Hollow, Hibernia, Intercourse Park, Paradise Park...)!

Bible Memory- To encourage us in the challenge Pastor Pat gave to us on Sunday to memorize the upcoming Scripture passage from James, follow this link to James 1:1-4 in the ESV. Learning from the same Bible version will help us recite it together on Sunday mornings! Memorize on!

Firm Foundations- Check in this evening, August 12, as the Firm Foundations series focuses on the question, "Did Jesus Rise from the Dead?" Clint will look at various support for this most important tenet of the Christian faith. Participate tonight on Facebook Live at 7:00pm. View any of our previous classes on the Pequea Baptist Church Facebook page under "Live" or "Videos."

Mission Agencyhere is a link to a Q&A time that explains what it would mean if Pequea serves as the mission agency for the Oser family. We plan to have a congregational vote on August 16th on whether or not we will serve as the Oser's mission agency.

Operation Christmas Child- It's time to think about school supplies for our Operation Christmas Child shoe box ministry.  We are still planning to do a packing event this Fall, but it will look different than previous years.  Please click here for a list of needed items.

Softball- Come cheer on the church softball team at Paradise Park as they have a late game this coming week, Monday, August 17, 8:45pm, Field #1, against Bellevue.

Sunday Services- Sunday morning services continue to meet outdoors at 9:30am, weather permitting. Invite a friend, neighbor, family member, or coworker to attend with you. Bring your own lawn chairs or blankets. The Sunday worship service will be streamed on Facebook Live. It can be found on the Pequea Baptist Church page.

Families- Children's church will be held during the sermon time for children ages 4 through grade 3. There will be separately bagged, age-appropriate activities to do with children ages 3 through grade 6. You can find these packets available for pickup on Sunday outside of the gym doors.

Giving- Thanks to all of our church family for giving regularly, thoughtfully, and sacrificially! Your steady stewardship has made it possible for us to continue to meet all expenses throughout the pandemic. Instead of using the church's giving envelopes, we are encouraging everyone to either give online, mail in your giving, or use an envelope from home to place your offering in the giving box located on the sidewalk near the gym doors.

Thank you for continuing to treat the building as closed. Please do not go inside other than to use the restroom.
