August 19, Cups and Conversation and Announcements

Cups and Conversation

Life can be pretty hectic with four young children but Russell and Jamie Ference get real on this week's Cups and Conversation with Clint! Hear how God has been at work in their family during these busy, challenging, and non-stop days. See below for updates on what is happening this week at Pequea.

Connecting Idea- Some DNA groups have served together in various ways, but anyone can get a couple of people to do something for a friend or neighbor. Here are just a few ideas I've heard.

  • Serve at The Point in Parkesburg (or any other ministry in the area such as The Factory).
  • Help someone move. Many hands make light work...and help to know one another.
  • Visit someone who is shut in (use proper social distancing measures).
  • Put a swing set/playground area together.
  • Make a meal, or a few meals, and deliver to a neighbor or friend (check for any allergies or special food needs first).

Bible Memory- This week's Scripture memory passage is James 1:5-8 in the ESV. Learning from the same Bible version will help us recite it together on Sunday mornings!

Firm Foundations- Check in this evening, August 19, as the Firm Foundations series focuses on the question, "How the character of the early church testified to Christianity?" Pastor Pat will dive into how non-believers viewed the first Christians, and how those Christians lived rightly in a difficult culture. Participate tonight on Facebook Live at 7:00pm. View any of our previous classes on the Pequea Baptist Church Facebook page under "Live" or "Videos."

Operation Christmas Child- It's time to think about school supplies for our Operation Christmas Child shoe box ministry.  We are still planning to do a packing event this Fall, but it will look different than previous years.  Please click here for a list of needed items.

Softball- Come cheer on the church softball team at Paradise Park as they have an early game this coming week, Monday, August 24, 6:30pm, Field #1, vs Calvary.

Sunday Services- Sunday morning services continue to meet outdoors at 9:30am, weather permitting. Invite a friend, neighbor, family member, or coworker to attend with you. Bring your own lawn chairs or blankets. The Sunday worship service will be streamed on Facebook Live. It can be found on the Pequea Baptist Church page.

Families- Children's church will be held during the sermon time for children ages 4 through grade 3. There will be separately bagged, age-appropriate activities to do with children ages 3 through grade 6. You can find these packets available for pickup on Sunday outside of the gym doors.

Giving- Thanks to all of our church family for giving regularly, thoughtfully, and sacrificially! Your steady stewardship has made it possible for us to continue to meet all expenses throughout the pandemic. Instead of using the church's giving envelopes, we are encouraging everyone to either give online, mail in your giving, or use an envelope from home to place your offering in the giving box located on the sidewalk near the gym doors.

Thank you for continuing to treat the building as closed. Please do not go inside other than to use the restroom.
